About the Opportunity
This is an accelerated, hands-on leadership role at a growing lakefront lodge in Northern New Mexico. You will be part of a small team running a restaurant, bar, lodging operation, and event venue serving guests, weddings, and live music crowds.
This is not a traditional job — it is an immersive experience designed to fast-track your development in hospitality management.
If successful, this role extends beyond summer through the end of the year, culminating in our annual New Year’s Eve event – 7.5 month contract position.
Accelerated Track Overview
This role is designed for someone who wants to learn every aspect of running a hospitality business in a single season.
You will gain direct, hands-on experience in:
- Kitchen operations
- Restaurant and bar service
- Event execution (weddings, live music)
- Guest experience and problem solving
- Inventory management and cost control
- Business operations and systems
By the end of the year, you will have worked across every core function of the business.
Position Overview
The Operations Manager is responsible for leading daily operations, with primary responsibility for ensuring food service and overall execution run smoothly.
During peak summer months, this role is heavily involved in kitchen and service operations. As the season progresses, the role transitions into improving systems, supporting events, and helping scale the business.
You are not expected to stay in one role — you are expected to learn and lead across all areas.
Key Responsibilities
🔁 Daily Operations
- Oversee and support all aspects of lodge operations
- Ensure smooth execution of restaurant, bar, and event service
- Step into any role as needed (kitchen, service, cleaning, guest support)
🍳 Kitchen & Food Service Oversight
- Ensure consistent, efficient food execution
- Support prep and service during peak times
- Train and guide interns and team members
- Maintain organization and cleanliness
👥 Team Leadership
- Help lead a small, cross-trained team
- Create schedule
- Assign roles and maintain workflow during shifts
- Foster a team-first, no-ego work environment
📦 Inventory & Systems (Fall Focus)
- Implement and manage an inventory tracking system
- Improve ordering, prep, and kitchen processes
- Support cost control and operational efficiency
🎉 Events & Guest Experience
- Support execution of weddings, group events, and live music nights
- Ensure a consistent, high-quality guest experience
- Solve problems in real time

Schedule

- Peak: Thursday–Monday operations during summer

Stone House Lodge & RV is a growing hospitality property overlooking El Vado Lake in Northern New Mexico.
The business includes cabins, RV sites, a restaurant, and an event pavilion hosting weddings, reunions, and live music throughout the summer.
